Magee Playoffs Round 1

If you remember before, my posts were pretty detailed with the game results. This proved to be a tough problem last year at Southside since there were 2 fields to cover. This time at Magee it wasn't that tough because I was able to see both fields from the top row of the bleachers. It was hard keeping track of both games, but I think I have the stats right.

Anyway. Game 1 was on the big field between White and Orange. In their previous meeting White won what appears to be a close game on paper given the result from the PSL website. In the playoffs, things tighten up and we expect to see low scoring games (unless there is a one-sided match up). This game was quick and close. Some of the players on the Orange team are previous PSL vets who have been in the playoffs before. Despite this, the White team won by a score of 3-2 knocking the Orange team out of the playoffs.

The 2nd game on the small field pitted the Gray team vs the Gold team. The Gray team had a nearly flawless record throughout the season with the only bump coming from a tie with the gold team. This game could have gone either way, but I'm glad they were able to play again because I hate ties and this time a winner needed to be determined. My stats on this game were a bit off due a bunch of kids bugging me. I believe the score was in the 6-3, maybe 5-2 range. Either way, Gray took home the win. This group is also another bunch of PSL vets who I've come to know over the past year. They've certainly come along way from the light blue team at McKinley.
